US$0.00raised of $15,000.00 goal goal
In these challenging times, the suffering of the members of the South African LGBTQIA+ community is increasing at an alarming rate. Unemployment rates and safety issues surrounding the community are far greater than any other group. That is why I created Sir-Vic, with the aim of assisting members of the LGBTQIA+ community to become financially self sustainable by assisting them to set up their own businesses and/or contributing to the challenges that they face.
It is for this reason that the fund raiser has been created. Sir-Vic is aiming at changing the lives of minimum 10 people by donating at least $1500 per project to get people started with a basic project or by giving 10 businesses owned by members of the LGBTQIA+ community a boost.
The aim is to submit multiple candidates for funding to a panel of donors in order to have a democratic selection of the winning projects. These projects will receive the funding and the assistance of Sir-Vic to get their projects started.
The expected outcome of the donations will be to have a minimum of 10 members of the LGBTQIA+ community become financially self-sustainable in a work environment which is safe. In return, not only the members but also their family members will have a chance at a better life and a better integration in their communities.
While local organizations, like the Triangle project of Cape Town, give the members the necessary counseling and non-financial support, Sir-Vic is aiming at filling in the gap that still exists, which is financial independence.
Let's contribute our pieces to the puzzle for our members of the LGBTQIA+ community and help them help themselves and enrich our society.
