Dear friends,

Big tragedy struck our small rescue. Svetlana Voynova, one of our foster parents and close friend of mine, died unexpectedly on 14 of November and left us in shock. http://bit.ly/2QIksI4

Our loss is huge and our sorrow is deep. Svetla, as we called her, had a heart of gold. She was taking care of 17 orphaned cats in Karnobat. She adored them. Last Christmas we bought kitty toys and treats, she decorated little Christmas tree for them and they were so happy. But now they know that their loving mum is not coming back. They are fed daily but there is nobody to turn the lights and the heater on. Their home, once warm and filled with love, is dark and cold…Svetla’s relatives, who inherited her house are going back and forth...the kitties get scared and hide away. The relatives issued us with ultimatum to remove them A.S.A.P. as they want to take possession.

It seems like mission impossible to find homes for 17 adult cats at once. Still, we must do it or they won’t make it. It’s the beginning of winter and the temperatures already plummeted to -15°C. So far we have arranged foster homes for nine of them in Vidin region and currently negotiating two more homes in Varna region. Here is a link to our Facebook album with photos and description of each cat: S.O.S. A SORROWFUL PLEA FOR HELP FOR 17 CATS IN DISTRESS

In short - we are facing huge challenge and we need all support we can get to fund the following tasks:

- organasing a rescue crew because the cats are traumatized and hide wherever they can in Svetla's big property. The crew members will travel from Burgas and we may have to cover some of their expenses.

- organasing transport. We will use a company called Zootransport. The cost will be significant given the large number of the animals and the long distance to the new foster homes, but we need people with experience in handling cats in distress.

- we need to buy cat beds, some more kitty toilets and about 10 transport cages (some of the cats can travel together, others would need to be alone in a cage).

Our monthly food bill is due on the 17 December - €500. Since November we rescued little kitten, who was run over and badly injured: FEDYA, LUCKY TO BE ALIVE; another baby in Nesebar, SWEET, LITTLE JAMIE; a little darling in Soifa, LILLY SEEKS LOVING, FOREVER HOME/ADOPTED and a tiny, 30 days old baby from Sofia, S.O.S. HOLY NEEDS A HOME, We are taking two more kittens under our wing right now, because we couldn't say "No" to them knowing very well, that they will die if we don't rescue them.

It would be mission impossible to save all these precious souls without help and we may not be able to pull thru. We count on you, dear supporters! Let's make together this Christmas less painful for the 17 kitties who were unlucky to be orphaned twice during the past 24 months and for the old and new rescues, that have only you and us in this hostile and cruel to them world. Please, donate!

With hope and gratitude,

Julia/BSCRRC

The rest are still recovering from their 2-months ordeal in Svetla's house, where they lived in constant fear, without any heating (the relatives. . . . .
