Oltukai Community Project is currently a project running with OCDO that aims is to support Vulnerable children and Orphans to provide basic education at the kindergarten level but in the future also secondary to the college level. For help necessity basic needs such as education, health, food, water, shelter and books.

Envision a country where every vulnerable child and orphanage is free, safe, healthy and educated.

The mission is to develop vulnerable children and orphans and help shape their futures and share in the development of their communities.

My name is Kipe Lazier, full name is Kipelyani Mkare Olesisian. I grew up in Maasai village located on the Slope of the Rift Valley wall, Lake Manyara.

I was impressed by these precarious conditions and I established this charitable organization to support these vulnerable people, especially children. There are whole communities that are living in hard conditions.

I decided to help because of my background when I was in primary school. It is the story of my life. When I was in primary school, I had 4 friends of mine, we were like ring and finger when one of us was not present, we were unhappy.

One day when we were in fourth grade, all five of us together, our teachers told us that we have to come with 15,000 Tsh fees for exams and food on the day of the exams. Three of our friends were living in very hard environments, but because we were kids we didn't know what that would mean. But they knew what that fee would mean to their family. So after we heard about the fees for the exams, our three friends told us: 'Kipe and Baraka, we really can't come anymore to school because we can't afford to pay the fee. The shoes, school uniform and exercise books you see, we always buy them ourselves. We go to every market every day to look for the people that buy sheep and goats so that we can take care of them and then they give us a little money. That is how we save money for school fees, books and shoes. So it is too much money for us, we can't afford to pay the fees, so we will stop coming to school.'

It seemed like a joke to us. Barak and I didn't believe them at that point. Until the end of the two days of exams and after ***open school *** (nu înțeleg cursul evenimentelor - începerea anului școlar?!)

After our fellows dropped out of school, we were so very painful and loyal for a while almost until we finished stand seven.

After graduating from my primary level, this was still on my mind. I was still too young and I couldn't understand that my friends were living in hard environments. I was being raised differently and I thought that maybe their parents don't love them as mine love me.

After I graduated from my secondary education I went to college for the Diploma level. I took only a Certificate because my parents didn't afford to continue to Diploma. It was a little painful but I did not complain. I did know much, so I didn't have any complaints.

I came back to the village where I stayed for three months. The way things were happening reminded me of my friends from primary school. In the same way, children were in the streets, they were not going to school. When I did my research, I found out that some didn't have parents, others were living in hard conditions, and they can't afford to go to school.

I tried to fight for them for a long time. I was like: 'How can I help them????? I don't have money, I don't anything to start with.

Something came to my mind: 'Kipe, support what you can and do what you can and use what you have.'

After that, I thought I would like to build something, like a school and then collect an amount of money so I can support this wish. It was something strange because every friend around me when I tried to tell them what I was planning, told me: Erith, it's difficult to do, you can't.

So I decided to try to go as myself and I shared this with my parents. My parents understood me, but they were like: 'Are you serious about doing this? Do you want to take kids every morning, play with them, be their teacher? Don't you see that they will look at you disgracefully???'

I said 'No, I will do what I see right and I won't mind what anybody else says.'

....

I have 25 children, 13 boys and 12 girls.

6 are orphans and the rest come from hard environments.

I helped build the kindergarten as you see, for them to get an education and also food. I started to also provide breakfast for them, but now I had to stop because of the lack of water.

What I have achieved until now is building the ordinary class and the goal is to begin building the temporary class.

Here is where the funds are going:

*For food(lunch), Breakfast (nutritional porridge) approx: 3000$ per two months while each kid use 2$ Day.

*Toilet: approx 2000$

*Teacher salary approx 300$ per month

*Water collection system approx 4,370.6$ for the size of 8,000 litres.

In total, our aim approx:9,670$

The smallest donation can make a HUGE difference!

Thank you so much for the support and for spreading the word!
