Given the increasingly urgent situation in Gaza, Abdullah is asking for donations to help he and his family afford daily survival, right now. He is no longer aiming to leave Gaza.

The family has no money left and very little to sustain themselves. The idea of raising tens-of-thousands to leave Gaza is a notion just as uncertain as the next meal.

The next meal, however is an ever-present concern; a manufactured famine is sweeping across Gaza due to the Israeli destruction, blockade and genocidal mania. And all this during the holy month of Ramadan.

In Gaza, the situation is getting worse, by the hour. It is now the holy month of Ramadan and millions of Muslims, including Abdullah and his family, are struggling to find sustenance to break their fast at suhoor.

167 days of genocide by mass destruction and tyrannical bombing campaigns, with internationally-banned weaponry, has desecrated Gaza.

In addition to the relentless military attacks, the occupation forces have intentionally targeted and destroyed infrastructural and civil services, like hospitals and aid distribution, including staff, to expedite the genocide via starvation, disease and untreated injuries.

There is very little produce left in Gaza. Humanitarian aid has been insufficiently drip fed into the besieged strip, while aid convoys, crowds awaiting aid and distribution coordinators have all come under Israeli attack. Thousand of martyrs have ascended amidst massacres committed during the undignified deployment and distribution of aid.

Additionally, the entire healthcare system has been intentionally obliterated, as per Israel’s vast portfolio of US-endorsed genocidal tactics.

In the past 5 days, Al-Shifa hospital was besieged, bombed and terrorised; all patients and staff were interrogated to have their fates determined: death, displacement or detention.

Some news managed to emerge from under siege; the entire Aj Jazeera News team, who were present in Al-Shifa during the siege, had also been blindfolded, detained, tortured and interrogated. They were later released.

This is the SECOND attack on al-Shifa hospital. It also came immediately after the besiegement, raiding and evacuation of al-Nassr hospital in Khan Younis.

The fascist occupation soldiers will continue, unimpeded, for as long as the people of the world stand by and cooperate in their societies. Only mass civil disobedience and collective disruption can now halt the many imperialist machines of death and destruction currently being unleashed in Gaza. Silence is violence and actions speak louder than words.

INITIAL STATEMENT - Wednesday 21 February, 2024

Like everyone else in Gaza, Abdullah and his family have spent the last 138 days surviving a genocidal attack waged by the criminal Israeli Occupation. Currently sheltering in Rafah, along with more than a million other displaced Gazans, Abdullah and his family do not want to die. There are no safe zones in Gaza, there never were. But since October 7, the Occupation have forcibly displaced the entirety of Gaza, bombing evacuated areas, evacuation routes and designated shelters. After four months of valiant resistance in the face of disproportionate horror and violence, the only option left for Abdullah and his family is temporary evacuation through Egypt, for which they must pay extortionate fees to the treacherous Egyptian regime.

Abdullah and his immediate family – 23 members, including 12 children – have been displaced from the North of Gaza multiple times since the attack commenced. They want to live. They want to remain in their homes, on their homeland and to see all of Palestine free from the fascist clutches of the Zionist entity. Their faith and steadfastness have kept them rooted, but now the situation is dire - unliveable. The family of 23 are currently sharing two tents in besieged Rafah, with no access to fresh food or clean water; no basics at all. Meanwhile, the cruel Egyptian and Occupation governments refuse to allow adequate aid into Gaza, exacerbating manufactured starvation, dehydration and extreme medical negligence.

The world has failed to act accordingly; the People have not raised their voices to condemn the Occupation’s colonial violence, the People have not acted boldly, to prevent profiteers signing contracts amounting to death warrants. The bare minimum people can do now is give money to those who still have the will to survive. Please donate generously, as though it were your own family. Abdullah is one in a million; my friend. Abdullah is also one of a million; one of a million Gazan citizens making their final, hopeful demands of a world populated by insufficient humanity.
